Ethical Code

Ethical Code

Nowadays, the widespread growing attention to corporate governance principles and corporate social responsibility implies the need to disseminate the socio-environmental values that have always played a major role in the Generali Group. This is done by means of a document which is universally regarded as the Company’s ethical identity card.

The Generali Group’s Ethical Code systematically describes in a single document the fundamental ethical principles inspiring the business conduct of the people operating within the Company and its Group.

The document takes over a series of values that are already enshrined in those working inside the Group, and highlights common concepts that are shared by the countries where the different Group companies operate.

The Ethical Code does not include a detailed description of the code of conduct to be followed by the Group in every possible situation. It is mostly a very general and abstract Charter of values, where all the Group’s fundamental and inalienable values - whose compliance is mandatory - are laid down.

The Ethical Code and any updating are defined and approved by the Parent Company’s Board of Directors. It is translated in each language of the countries where the Group operates and is published on Generali website and on those of its main subsidiaries. Finally, the document is given to collaborators for whom specific training courses are envisaged.
