Generali-Providencia Biztosító Zrt. has the longest tradition in the Hungarian insurance market. It has a strong capital base and plays a dominant role in the domestic market. The first office of Generali was opened in 1832 in former capital city.
 
The company’s written premium amounted to HUF 123.1 billion in 2008 and its after-tax profit reached HUF 9.3 billion. Generali-Providencia has 1.2 million clients and is the second largest Hungarian insurance company with a market share of 16%.
 
Its products and services vary from individual and family insurance: including health, household and property, to business insurance products, providing protection for both business ventures of corporate clients and their employees.

As a result of our home savings service named Lakáskassza and our cooperation with travel insurer EUB, we offer secure solutions to clients of all walks of life.
 
Our network
Our colleagues, highly skilled in sales, portfolio management, and claims settlement, are available for our clients at nearly 500 locations throughout the country at our modern client service centres, agencies, and branch offices. Assistance is also available from more than 1000 of our contracted partners.
 
Our extensive sales force and cooperating partners enable us to reach majority of Hungarian households. Our agents who are available through the internet, our online contract conclusion and modification services, and the Generali Call Centre provide our clients with state-of-the art access to our insurance products, as well as enable them to inquire about existing contracts, products and submit claims.
 
Through our website, our clients can make claims using our online system for property insurance (home, enterprise, liability, large-scale industry, machinery, construction and cargo insurance) and vehicle (MTPL and motor) insurance.
